With everything going on in the world right now, many of us are passing more time at home. It can seem tricky to keep up with a healthy lifestyle when your gym in Lincoln is closed.

You might have transformed into the principal, personal chef, and parent in your home. Or you are working from home for the time being and struggling to establish some normalcy in the day.

In these changing times, it can be tempting to waste time on the couch, staring at the news and movie after movie, and likely dropping your daily workout routine. We may be spending more time at home, but we can still focus on ways to continue a healthy lifestyle! Take a look at our preferred productive practices you can work into your new daily routine to be active, support your immune system, and manage momentum toward realizing your wellness goals.

Try Home Workouts

One nice thing about spending extra time at home is the adaptability in your everyday agenda. Look at your routine. Where can you make just a few minutes for an at-home workout? A useful sweat session doesn’t need to go for hours to make a difference. As long as your heart rate escalates, you will get fat and calorie-burning perks! Have Your Kids Join Your Workout

The pools may not be open, but there are still tons of ways to create fun things your kiddos will like. At the end of the day, staying active isn’t just for adults! Here are a selection of our preferred fun (and free!) ways the entire family can spend time together:

  • Take the dog for a walk
  • Bring a frisbee out of your house in the sunshine (hello Vitamin D!)
  • Break for a bike ride or roller skate trip
  • Design a floral arrangement with your outdoor blooms
  • Play ball in your yard
  • Snag your sidewalk chalk and make a driveway masterpiece
  • Have a dinner cooking challenge
  • Switch on the tunes and have a dance competition

Make Healthy Meals

Are you doing your best to avoid grocery shopping? That works! Now is the time to try new things in the kitchen and incorporate your family’s canned goods and frozen foods. With the children on summer break, busy times at work, and the usual household chores, keep your mealtimes easy this season.
